I don’t know if I’ve actually mentioned this here or not, but we purchased a new home at the end of August. Closed the day before we left for DragonCon. My life since then has been busy and chaotic and likely will remain so for a few more weeks a while we settled in. Here are the new digs!
We tried to give a lot of things to goodwill and to throw out the things that we couldn’t (apparently our goodwill does not take TVs?!). But somehow, now that all the boxes and stuff are here, I still feel like we have too much stuff. I hated packing all of it, but it’s possible I will hate unpacking more? At the very least I was not very good at it at the house we were renting … A lot of boxes sat in our garage packed for over two years. I am determined to do better here regardless of the timeline, hah!
My husband and I have accomplished some decent things since we got the house:
1). Installed two doggie doors, one in the back door to the screened porch, and then one in the screen to get to the yard.
2). Painted the living room (grays), dining room (orange), and what will eventually be the guest suite (coral). During this process I discovered that I will likely be that person with the house painted lots of bright colors, and guests will likely want to kill me for my choices. But ya know what? I like the colors.
3). Bought furniture for the master bedroom. We still need a mattress though.
I have tons of things I want to purchase, and lots of projects I want to do, but I am trying to exercise restraint while our bank accounts recover. Doesn’t help that the renters of a house we own in a different state decided they were leaving at the end of September, doh.
I do have a new sewing room that is not even remotely unpacked yet. But someday. So if you’re wondering what I’m up to, wonder no longer. I will try to keep posting as much as I can, though you are likely to get house projects for a while … 😉
