Pajama Pants III: Attack of the Geeky Prints

I’m absolutely sure that the article of clothing I have sewed most often during my three and a half years of sewing is pajama pants.

I have made several pairs for gifts, such as these.

And I have quite a collection myself.  I would say I’ve made at least 20 pairs total over the last three years.

Recently I’ve made a few minor upgrades to how I amake them.  I’ve been adding tags to the back of them so its easier to tell which side is the front.  These were a gift from my good friends, Suzanne and Colin – they were the ones who threw the fun Christmas party I made Ugly Sweaters for a couple months ago.

And at my husband’s request, I modified the pattern I use to include side seam pockets.

Usually on Black Friday, I hit up the fabric store because flannel is inevitably on sale for under $2 a yard and I can stock up for a while.  When I did that in 2014, I made sure to pick up a couple of geeky licensed prints, since I’ve been on the geeky clothing creation kick for almost a year now.  Naturally, pajama pants needed to adapt.  My favorite geeky pair are the sleeping ponies above.  But I also made some fun Wonder Woman ones last week…

… and a pair of Transformer ones for my hubby.

I think I’m temporarily out of geeky flannel now, but still have a few other cut flannel pairs for a rainy day, easy project.

Do you have a favorite pair of pajama pants?  What makes them your favorite?

I love having pockets in my PJs! All of my favorites (which I’ve made) have pockets. And the prints you chose are super cute by the way.

Thanks! I found that I placed the ones in my Wonder Woman pair a tad too low, but they are still useful.
