DragonCon 2015 Cosplay Photos

I never take nearly as many photos as I want to at DragonCon, and this year was no exception.  In general, due to pregnancy I was feeling even more lazy than usual in terms of doing con things.  But I did take a few, and I figured I’d share them here with you!  In no particular order …

John as Dreamfinder, with Figment!

This was taken during the Epbot meetup that I attended Thursday afternoon.  So cool to meet Jen and John and see their work in person – I even got to hold Figment for a few moments!  He’s not as heavy as he looks, but I imagine it gets tiring carrying him over an extended period of time.

Another photo of a costume from the Epbot meetup. Christine’s steampunk look was quite gorgeous!

I was surprised at how many Jurassic World cosplays there were this year.  We even saw someone in a Jurassic World car.  Raptors were definitely running rampant.  But here are a few of my favorites …

The DNA guy, cosplayed by Kyle Gilstrap!

And while I am not surprised that I saw one of these Jimmy Buffet margarita guys from the pterodactyl scene …

Save the damn margaritas! This guy clearly has his priorities straight, and is at the correct convention …

… however, I was surprised to see so many of this dude.  One of these Buffets was cosplayed by Maureen Ingraham!

And even though I did not take this photo, I felt I had to share it (I found it on the DragonCon facebook group I’m in).  If you took this photo, please let me know where to link so I can give you credit!

Let’s see, where should we go next?  This one was random and unexpected for me.

A group of presidential heroes. I can place Obama, Clinton, Washington, and Lincoln. Can anyone name the other two?

This Optimus Prime and Bumblebee (cosplayed by Lionel Lum) were fantastically well done!  These are so impressive to me – I cannot look at these and even pick out the materials they are using.  Must have taken a long time to build!

More than meets the eye.

While I saw a handful of Jessica Rabbit cosplays this year, it is very rare to see a Roger Rabbit!

An obligatory shot of me in my modified Fluttershy cosplay, with some other equally yellow costumes – Jake the dog from Adventure Time, and unfortunately I am not sure of the wizard’s character.  He reminds me a little of a black mage, but that guys robe is normally blue I thought?  If you know who he is please post and let me know!  Also, if you haven’t seen this, now is a good time to watch it.  Stuck in your head?  You’re welcome.

“And it was all … YELLOW!”

I cannot tell you how excited I was to see some Rat Queens cosplay this year!  And crossplays to boot! <3

Here’s a unique My Little Pony cosplay I haven’t seen often!

This wonderbolt pony looked very well put together and also quite comfy.

As you would expect, there were plenty of Mad Max cosplays this year (though honestly, I think I may have seen more from Jurassic World), and Immortan Joe was one of the most popular.

She must be very warm, but you can’t tell at all – she looks very composed and regal in this photo, and every time I saw her.

At the Aquarium night, Ariel was a very popular cosplay, as was Ursula.  These were some of the best I saw while there.

I saw a few Cruella’s this year, but this was my favorite take on that character.

A group of sexy ponies were at the aquarium.  Not sure why Rarity didn’t want to be part of the photo, but maybe she wasn’t actually with this group?

I think I caught this guy without his helmt, but I still loved this costume!

Olimar, and a few Pikmin stowaways!

After me not being sure which character the lady in the center is portraying, Natalie was nice enough to inform me that she is cosplaying Jane!  Thanks for the info!

Loki and Thor, along with a character in the center that I dont recognize.

Loki, Jane, and Thor!

This Penguin (cosplayed by Dave Collier) was obnoxiously hanging outside the penguin exhibit at the aquarium, cracking jokes at passersby.  I’m always jealous when people are this good at being in-character in their costumes!

I love that this Poison Ivy is holding a Baby Groot!

My hubby was excited to see this Zero Suit Samus from the Metroid series.

And last but not least, some badass armor.  These are likely video game cosplays, probably from WOW.

Illidan and a very impressive WOW armor set on the right, but Im not sure which one.

Pretty sure these two are WOW characters, but I haven’t played in so long, I don’t know which ones.

And that concludes my DragonCon photos post.  Which one is your favorite?

I think that the girl in the photo with Loki and Thor is actually cosplaying Jane. It appears to be her costume from the Thor: Dark World poster (and some scene is Asgard, though I can’t recall which one). http://christianentertainmentreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/thor2still.jpg

The KFP Penguin here! Thanks for the article and the compliment!

It was great fun playing him!

I’m not sure about “Awesome” – Obnoxious is a far better way to describe me when I’m Penguined up 🙂 But thank you for the compliment!

I only cosplayed “Colonel Cobblepot” on the Saturday though (I was part of the Fast Food Villains group) – for the rest of the time I played a more conventional take on the Penguin:

Oh – I didn’t expect it to format it like that, apologies. I hope you can fix it
