Since I have been putting off a lot of things until after DragonCon, you can probably imagine that I have quite the project list for myself over the next few months, all hopefully prior to baby’s arrival.
Curtains for mother-in-law
Debbie gave me some curtains she bought for a room in her house, but only got one or two panels of them, and wanted me to split them in half for her. This should be really easy.
Curtains for baby room
There is only a single window in Baby Allen’s room, but I purchased some Nintendo Mario Brothers fabric to make a curtain for it. I also bought some blackout fabric to attach to said curtain to darken the room a bit, since the fabric is a white base.
Five Dwarves costumes
A friend at work asked me to make his family some simple costumes of some of the dwarves from Snow White for their upcoming trip to Disney, where they will attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. They leave late next week, so y’all should be hearing about this soon!
4. Baby Blankets
Spoonflower has minky fabric now! I bought some a while back to make a few blankets for Baby Allen. Kiddo better appreciate the awesomeness of this dragon blanket once it is done!
I started the geeky alphabet for the baby room a few months ago, but haven’t added to the alphabet or painted any yet… Need to get on that, but if it isn’t done till after he is here, it’s not like he will be learning to read immediately anyway.
I bought a couple of patterned fabrics from spoonflower and Jo Ann’s that are perfect for leggings. And since these seem to fit well these days, I may try to get some of these made soonish. I may also just let them fall off my radar, hard to say. I made one pair right before DragonCon … Huzzah, Harry Potter leggings!
7. Maleficent Kid’s Costume
Another friend from work asked me to make his daughter a Halloween costume. I don’t have details yet, but this is in my plans before Halloween.
8. Wedding dress
Last but definitely not least … my sister-in-law is getting married next summer and I am going to be making her dress. I won’t be able to post about this one until after the wedding, but I definitely need to start working on it. So far, I have just patterned out a corset for her, though it is not going to be a traditional one really. This item will likely become my top priority in the next few months!!
Somewhere in here there are other little house readying projects for my husband and I to do as well. Like this week, we organized the garage. We know we want to install some cabinet organizer pieces in the kitchen. And I have to finish painting the baby room (hopefully this week). And once we buy furniture and other baby stuff, we’ll have to put those things together… Have I mentioned that December is seeming quite close these days?? 😉 Exciting, but we will be some busy people for the next few months … only to be even busier post-baby, I’m certain!
