2016: Life Speeds Up, Blog Slows Down

Happy New Year!  And also just a general hello since it’s been so long since I posted.

Happily, I am no longer pregnant!  Our baby boy was due on Christmas Eve.  While I thought early in the pregnancy that he would arrive a little early, when I went to my appointment on the day of the Star Wars release (Thurs the 17th), I was still not close to going into labor at ALL.  So I happily watched Star Wars – and loved it – though some Braxton Hicks kept me wondering through the whole thing!

And though I had been scheduled for an induction on the 29th, my body decided it was ready to evict the tenant on Sunday night, and our baby boy was born on Monday, December 21st, 2015 at 4:50 pm.

Please say hello to our son, Lincoln Jesse.  He was 21.5″ long, and weighed 8 lbs 15 oz.

As of today, it has been 2 weeks.  We had a great experience at the hospital, starting with a good friend of ours being my delivery nurse – I can’t thank you enough, Amanda!  And while it’s taken some figuring out and getting used to, the time at home as a family of three has been very nice.  Even if we are pretty darn tired.

So the moral of this post is … Blogging will still be a bit scarce for me for a while.  But I hope you’ll come back and read when I do post.  Sometime soon I should have some newborn photos taken by my sister-in-law to share 🙂

We took our first family photo over the weekend.  I will leave you with that… And best wishes for your new year!!

Hi Jenn — A big Congratulations again to you and family — Lincoln is soooo cute! It’s not easy getting used to a baby especially for the lack of sleep — but so worth it! I wish I could hold him in my arms — and hope I will sometime soon. For now enjoy him and when Lincoln sleeps — you sleep too! Ha! Love to you and Jesse. Love that family photo! Aunt Patty

Thanks, Aunt Patty! It is hard to sleep when he sleeps but being so tired definitely helps!
