Originally, this post was supposed to happen after 4 months. But as you can see I am even more of a slacker than I thought!
However, I now have 3 months worth of geeky baby monthly photos to post 🙂 I’m so pleased with how these are going, and I can’t wait to have the full set. I have a 12 piece picture frame all ready to hold one from each month! And I bet I should make a calendar or something online somewhere… Anyway!
Month 3 was themed after Mariokart. Since his room is Super Mario Brothers themed, we used the walls there as a background, and some construction paper from my craft room stash to make “Rainbow Road”. He even tolerated a fake mustache for a couple photos! He is getting over a folliculitis rash, so pay no attention to all the red dots on his skin 🙁 So many skin problems for this kid, but he is finally over the worst of it now.
Month 4 was a last minute decision to theme based on Jurassic World. Back at DragonCon in 2015, we saw ridiculous numbers of people dressed as Jimmy Buffet being chased by pterodactyls as he carried two margaritas. It seemed only fitting that Lincoln should dress this way for some photos. I also thought it was a great idea to try to do these photos at the beach. Maybe it would have been if I didn’t pick the windiest day ever to do it. Lots of sand, wind, and a screaming baby do not mix. Needless to say I did do-overs at the house a few days later.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Jimmy Buffett scene from Jurassic World … here is the best image I could find of it on the interwebs.
Because we (I?) love Star Wars so much, we have a lot of baby things for Lincoln surrounding that fandom. So even though we did Month 1 with a Star Wars theme, there will be additional Star Wars photos interspersed among the months. Like in Month 4.
Month 5 was How to Train Your Dragon. He wore cute pajamas from Target, an adorable crocheted Toothless, and some additional stuffed dragon toys, combined with the baby blanket I sewed for him which also features dragons. We even got Penny close enough for a photo. But all in all, this photo op was rushed because I had a lot going on that weekend, including a bridal shower to prep for.
Until the next time I get monthly photos up … hopefully before DragonCon! 😉
